    hi harpeet you have in gsm a hierarachical coverage which look like ambrella the macro site for wide area coverage and micro site for blind areas(tunnels,streets or small areas urban)and pico sites for indoor coverage and some times you can use repeaters.

    Hi all

    Can any body send me the latest (if available) Ericsson OMT software and its manuals?

    I’ve got Local OMT Ver R17_5. But actually I don’t have the manuals.

    Hi Jayanth,

    Erlang & ccs (centem call seconds) are units of Traffic density.

    CCS is a smaller unit of erlang.

    As you might know,

    1 erlang is holding time of a cirucit is 3600 secs in an hour.

    1 CCS is holding time of a circuit is 100seconds in an hour

    In 1 hour there are 100 * 36 = 3600 seconds. So 36 CCS = 1 erlang

    in other words, 1 CCS = 1/30 erlang

    It was nice reply for the heiarchial coverage. but I want to know more about Umbrella cell and how it is usefull and where it is implemented.Generally it is not mentioned in the planning . where specifically it is being use for the planning or implementation.
    pls tell me more about the Umbrella coverage
