Bijoy26th November 2009 at 01:29 #48698sewashiGuestthanks bijoy for the parameters.
but can you explain how it is related to sdcch blocking? im a little bit confused. is it rach that is being used as a reply to a paging message?
26th November 2009 at 05:38 #48699BijoyGuestOk
Let me try.
In response to paging,RACH(Channel request) will be sent by the MS to the BTS with the CM service Type.In response to RACH,BSC will ask to BTS to activate a channel(usually SDCCH).Now,if there is no usable/free SDCCH available,BTS will reply with Channel NACK/Immediate Assignment reject. Now,since call set-up indication is not being sent to the MSC,so no paging response.Hence,PSR goes down.9th December 2009 at 08:14 #48700AmeenGuestHi Bijoy,
Thanks for the information, however just wanted to point out that in Paging Scenario, “CM Serv Request” is not sent. Instead, when SDCCH is established, MS sends “Paging Response” to the network.
CM Serv Request (4 types) are only in Mobile Originated scenarios.
Moreover, RACH contains only Cause Values (for whichever service required), where CM Serv Req message is a layer 3 message which is only sent when SDCCH is established.

Ameen9th December 2009 at 09:03 #48701BijoyGuestThanks Ameen for the slight correction.
But again,as you have written “in Paging Scenario, “CM Serv Request” is not sent” is not correct. You contradicted yourself in your post itselfBr\\
