thanks bijoy for the parameters. can i also have the msc parameters? tnx..
also i would like to ask, is sdcch congestion/blocking related to paging success rate? kindly explain.25th November 2009 at 09:34 #48697BijoyGuest
As you wish
Here we go
1.TMSI PAGE REPETITION IN MT CALL
2.LIMIT FOR SIMULTANEOUS SEARCHES
3.SEARCH RESPONSE WAITING TIME
4.TMSI PAGE REPETITION IN MT SMS
Yes,SDCCH Blocking may affect the Paging Success Rate

thanks bijoy for the parameters.
but can you explain how it is related to sdcch blocking? im a little bit confused. is it rach that is being used as a reply to a paging message?26th November 2009 at 05:38 #48699BijoyGuest
Let me try.
In response to paging,RACH(Channel request) will be sent by the MS to the BTS with the CM service Type.In response to RACH,BSC will ask to BTS to activate a channel(usually SDCCH).Now,if there is no usable/free SDCCH available,BTS will reply with Channel NACK/Immediate Assignment reject. Now,since call set-up indication is not being sent to the MSC,so no paging response.Hence,PSR goes down.9th December 2009 at 08:14 #48700AmeenGuest
Thanks for the information, however just wanted to point out that in Paging Scenario, “CM Serv Request” is not sent. Instead, when SDCCH is established, MS sends “Paging Response” to the network.
CM Serv Request (4 types) are only in Mobile Originated scenarios.
Moreover, RACH contains only Cause Values (for whichever service required), where CM Serv Req message is a layer 3 message which is only sent when SDCCH is established.

Thanks Ameen for the slight correction.
But again,as you have written “in Paging Scenario, “CM Serv Request” is not sent” is not correct. You contradicted yourself in your post itself
