Yap it was just d confusion..!!
N I already read 29.018 Jan-2012 Release..!!
Also analysed trace on Gs & Gb..
I like that only one sentence from spec..
“The SGSN shall not retransmit the PAGING CS message”
That’s all..There is a T5 timer in MSC,after expiry of same MSC should stop asking SGSN about..!! 🙂
Some how I have convinced CS core guys with those arguments..!!

ok… but i feel like your problem is not yet clearly defined. Maybe it is clear in your mind 😉14th February 2012 at 20:13 #54895kamalGuest
Problem was like ..
When someone try to call the MS which is not reachable(in real),MSC was playing announcement that Number does not exist..
MSC guys likely to be shout on us as Gs was enable for paging & only SGSN attach subscribers were facing d issue..!!
But It was concluded that SGSN won’t monitor this paging request as it will not repeat any PAGING-CS msg sent to bsc..
So,MSC is having timer T5,after expiry of the same,MSC should stop asking to SGSN n declare MS as unrechable..
Ultimately,Issue seems to be between timer conflict bet’n announcement & T5 expiry..
Means SGSN is not Guilty..!! LOl..

Does anybody know how can I calculate the percentage of users that cannot be CS paged when they have active PS session?
(if we consider that we don’t have Gs interface)
Thanks!13th March 2012 at 18:48 #54898pixGuest
well, not directly.
but if your paging rate (from nss counters) is low, it might be due to users not being able to be paged while in PTM.
also, from BSS counters, you can count how many “GPRS suspend” occur. It means that either the MS in PTM has setup a call or received a call (through paging).
I don’t see other ways to count it…

Does anybody have information on how to calculate the percentage of the users that are CS paged while in they have active PDP context?
Thanks in advance.13th March 2012 at 22:46 #54900sanjaGuest
Thanks for the prompt suggestion Pix.
I’ll have that in mind, I’ll check for that counter in E/// BSC statistics.27th March 2012 at 07:48 #54901jayGuest

Again Issue with Gs interface..
Android Os phone, when switched on,comes directly in PTM mode,
Now when there is not transaction within certain period(Say till detach time),SGSN detach the Ms..Mean While,MSC will also detach the MS with flag ISGSN(Implicit detach by SGSN)
Now if someone try to call that MS then it will be sound as un-rechable..!!
While in nokia Handset, there is a mode called Always Online & Whenever Needed…So not having this issue..
Only Android Phone are having the issue…21st November 2012 at 04:13 #54903EshdevGuest
My query is what role does Gs interface play in call flow?
Recently in our MSC all MS were unreachable due to Gs interface issue. Can you explain elaborately how?

pls explin3rd December 2013 at 10:15 #54905GyanaGuest
call setup time increased while we have rehomed some bsc from one SGSN to another new SGSN for high end mobile.
for example when called party has PDP attached .call setup time 14
for example when called party has PDP detached .call setup time 53rd February 2014 at 11:26 #54906mnsGuest
When Gs Interface is not present…
When Ms tries to browse to packet network after Attach Complete…. there is not pdp activation. After multiple attempts of Attach, MS is able browse internet ….
Can Any one explain, how to re-solve this issue.
