I am trying to find out what other countries do to maintain their telecommunication services in times of power outages?
In Australia we have a very large area with a relatively small population.
We provide 4 hours of battery autonomy, but with the onset of 5G will find it difficult to maintain the 4 hours autonomy as the load increase.
We are also facing increasing power supply issues with the power network causing more and longer outages.
What do other large countries do to maintain power to their telecommunications equipment?
An input from my experience with business continuance planning. Looked at solutions for High Availability, Site Redundancy, Geographical Redundancy, Disaster Recovery, etc.. As a part of this Power Supply, UPS, Battery, etc.. was a main item. Depending on the Site the Battery had 4 or 8 hours to run before they would be depleted. Mobile Power Generators were used to ensure sites could be charged.
