Have some problems with Cisco PGW for the CIC channels. Some of the channels show Unavailable.
Here are the logs captured from PGW:

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=20,PST=IS,CALL=IN,BLK=NONE”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=21,PST=IS,CALL=IN,BLK=NONE”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=22,PST=IS,CALL=IDLE,BLK=MATE_UNAVAIL”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=23,PST=IS,CALL=IDLE,BLK=MATE_UNAVAIL”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=24,PST=IS,CALL=IN,BLK=NONE”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=25,PST=IS,CALL=IN,BLK=NONE”

    “ss7p-abc:CIC=26,PST=IS,CALL=IDLE,BLK=MATE_UNAVAIL”

    Hi Peanut,

It could be problem from SS7 rather than the PGW.

Is the same CIC unavailable at all times?

The PGW and PSTN switch had been reset but the problem still exists.
If it is the PSTN problem, all the CIC will be in “unavailable” status.
In this case, only few channels are in “unavailable” status but others are ok.
Anyway, Thanks for your advice, gyhew.

This means that CIC is locally blocked due to event at the media gateway. You need to troubleshoot media gateway to see why it is not unblocking selected circuits.

One of the problems, for example, could be that nailed connection on PGW incorrectly associates ss7 path/nas/cic with media gateway’s nfas-interface/rlm-group/ds0 timeslot. In this event, media gateway will not be able to unblock incorrectly referenced circuit and PGW will show this CIC as “MATE UNAVAIL”.

    Thanks Alex Zhilyakov.

My media gateway is using Cisco AS 5400. Did you mean that properly the problem comes from the Cisco AS 5400 ds timeslot??
