Physical channel used in GSM

    Hello sir,
    As in GSM 900 total 124 channel is used can you tell me .
    1.How BTS utilize this channel(apart from carrier freq) ?
    2. is all 124 channel being given to single BTS for access or there is limitation.
    3.what are the parameters to check utilization of channel at any instant of time of any BTS?

    GSM uses a combination of Control and dedicated channels.

    Below are GSM channels that an RF engineer should understand:-

    -Broadcast Control Channel (BCCH)
    -Frequency Correction Channel (FCCH)
    -Synchronisation Channel (SCH)
    -Random Access Channel (RACH)
    -Paging Channel (PCH)
    -Access Grant Control Channel (AGCH)
    -Cell Broadcast Channel (CBCH)
    -TCH (Traffic Channel)

    You will also need to look at Full Rate, Half Rate, RF planning, Frequency Hopping, etc..
