Madan
Guesthi everybody
I would like to know why the Base station transmits higher frequencies
a)when the power required to transmit higher frequencies is more.
b)Higher the frequency shorter is the distance travelled by the wave. Thanks and Regards

GuestHi madan,
The power saving should be at the mobile station. While the base station aims at low interference (high signal quality) they use higher frequencies.Preetham

GuestHi Preetham
Reference to your first reply about the question of our friend Madan, It is Ok that the power saving should be at the mobile station due to its low power budget while the base station has a reliable and continuous power resources, but the question is what is the relation between signal quality and the frequency if it is higher or lower. Thanks in Advance

GuestWhat is the frequency band used in India for CDMA ?
Other than 800 MHZ Band is there is any other bands ( standard )?Rgds

Guestbase station transmit at down link ferquency band of930–960mhz because as u know higer the frequency lesser is the travelled distance.so in case of base station we can transmit at higer power and at higer frequency.
,while ms(mobile station )should be transmitting at lower frequency band ie—890–915Mhz(uplink) Mhz so it is more easy for mobile station to transmit to the base transiever station at lower power and that will consume less battery power .20th March 2004 at 13:34 #36981akshay
Guesti miss typed the downlink frequency. it is 935- 960 Mhz
