What do you mean by IP over E1?

    hi,
IP packets are transmitted within the E1 timeslots. The image would be “packets” in a “timeslot”… a box in a box.

The benefit is that a timeslot is not statically associated to a channel (this presents a problem when the channel is not transmitting anything : the TS is still busy and can’t be used by anything else).
An IP device would maximize the usage of each TS, fitting packets as soon as there is a “space” available.

    regards
