    hi,
what is the mean of BA IND(or 3G BA IND) in System Information 2 quater?
During driving test, i found the BA IND value is 1 for some cells, and the other it is 0.
Can the value of BA IND be changed by operator? how? here is ERICSSON network.

    hi jack,

no, that’s normal. the ba ind is used kind of randomly, i forgot exactly why… anyway, the point is that it is not an issue (i asked myself the exact same question years ago, and i found the answer in 3GPP)

    regards

    hi pix,
Indeed BA IND is a random value according to 3GPP description, and when it is changed, MS shall rebuild the combined BA list(SI 2/2bis/2ter/2quater).
So when ba list is changed or idle ba list is different with active ba list, BA IND should be change.
