Dear Huawei Experts
There is one parameter in Huawei inner PCU (Maximum Ratio Threshold of PDCHs in a cell)
Its value is in percent (default=30 %)
What does this parameter mean? Is it for static or dynamic data TSs?
Please your advices
Thanks in advance13th May 2010 at 05:25 #62615HW_JUNIORGuest
Dears any comment???13th May 2010 at 10:04 #62616SHELDONGuest
This parameter is used to restrict the percentage of TSs that can be used as PDCHs (both static and dynamic).
Consider a typical 4TRX cell with 1BCCH and 2 SDCCHs. Then:
Total number of TSs that can be used for traffic(voice or data)=4*8 – 3 = 29.
Now, if ur ‘maximum ratio threshold of PDCHs in cell’ is 30 for this cell, then:
Maximum no. of PDCHs = 0.3*29 = 8.7. This means that a maximum of 9 TSs in this cell can be used as PDCHs.
This also means that if you have eg 2 static PDCHs, then you can have a maximum of 7 dynamic PDCHs.

Thanks for information.
As I know for static TS I should add PDTCH to Channel Type. If I don’t have any PDTCH TS in a cell and Maximum Ratio Threshold of PDCHs is 30 %.
What does it mean in this case?
Is there any static TS in 30% if I have not added PDTCH to TRX.

Please your comments, it is very urgent for me.

This threshold applies to the sum of all PDCHs, whether static or dynamic.
If you don’t have any static PDCHs (PDTCH TSs) in a cell, then this threshold will only apply to the dynamic PDCHs. That is, a maximum of 30% of TCHs in that cell can be used as dynamic PDCHs.

how can i improve EDAP congestion24th June 2010 at 16:51 #62622VinayGuest
Hello Mr HW_Junior.
In Huawei Maximum Ratio Threshold of PDTCH in a cells we go for only 30%. And we can use this because user can use multi-slot channel when they use the data.
If we go for 30 then it comes around 1.8 that is equal to 1, so if you want to use multi-slot then go for more than 30%. And for maximum conversion we are using different parameter in Huawei.22nd September 2010 at 04:14 #62623Md.Mamunul islamGuest
Whats the activity of this parameter? can anyone answer..

Sheldon is right. You can change the threshold if you want more .20th January 2011 at 16:00 #62626krishGuest
