In a recent drive test, we detected some HO Failure events due to N200 timeout (T200 timeout, N200 times).
In TEMS (layer 2), I can see 5 SABM-CMD messages from the MS (Uplink) and after that, the HO failure msg.
The target cell uses freq. hopping and there is no sign of interference over de hopping channels.
Could this be caused due to lack of signaling channels (SACCH / SDCCH) ?

the SABM CMD is sent after the HO ACCESS, right ? I can’t remember the procedure exactly.
It looks like there is a problem on the target TRX, either bad coverage, interference or harware problems on the target.

Hi,
What is the rule of thumb in assigning HSN to cells within the same area? the TRXs are in CHGR0 excluding the BCCH.
