I would please like all the info on how to calculate Erlang and what kind of traffic measured in
Erlang can a radio in a BTS handle.

I would also like you to tell me the advantages and disadvantages offull rate and half rate in a GSM network and what the traffic in Erlang would be if using the different rates.

Hi ,
I am an young radio engineer (GSM network in Croatia).
I see we have the same problem , and , still, I see only the questions not the answer on GSM and UMTS usage of ERLANG B , ERLANG C and MULTIERLANG – upon Campbell`s theorem.
I need to do some calculations for GSM and UMTS traffic (calculation of number of voice trunks per user, …), so I would very appreciate if you could share some of your knowledge on this subject.

The formula for any type of Erlang calculation is;

A= BHCA * MHT / 3600

A= Traffic
BHCA= Busy Hour Call Attempts
MHT= Mean Holding Time.
