Is the formula to convert traffic to erlangs for ss7linkset?
(say for the entire day)
(8 * (sifsio + (6 * MSU))
(duration) * data_rate
duration = endt – strt in seconds
data rate = ss7 link data rate????

This formula is valid for 64K Signalling Links and not valid for High Speed Signalling Links

Load is calculated based on:
1) One Tome Slot can Carry maximum of 1 Erlang @ one Hour.
2) Traffic on C7 Signaling Link should be keept bellow 0.3 Erlang per Time Slot.
so the formula is:

I am working in IN deptt and I have been given a task to calculate the SS7 link load
The formula that i used is
Total subscribers * (Avg BHCA/sub * AHT) / 3600 = IN load in Erlangs
Another one is
(0.3*64000*Number of SL in LS*3600)
which i couldnt get
which is this the right formula?i will appreciate any suggestions or corrections

The link between BTS and BSC is the Abis interface. It is a 2MBPS link with 32 timeslots. Every timeslot is for 64 KBPS. Timeslot zero is reserved for signalling and the rest are available for voice and data traffic.

the signalling between bts & bsc is on LAPD. I would say that for every TRX(voice channels) u also need to reserve a channel for signalling.
type of lapd – concentration, multiplexing.
