Sorry for the late response. The feature Fast return to WCDMA after call release is used with a 2G / 3G Network environment. One of the advantages is that you reduce the 2G SDCCH BSC load. This also allowed end users to “taste” 3G.
With 5G and AI based Base Station Subsystem / RAN this question maybe water under the bridge.
