The use of transcoder is change the rate of voice.
Transcoder change the data rate from 64kbps to 16kbps from MSC to BSC-BTS and from 16kbps to 64kbps from BTS-BSC to MSC. Because MSC accept or understand only 64 kbps data rate ( GSM Technology)
