E1 is an old standard for 2M transmission lines and it’s still the most widely used standard in telecom field, it consists of 32 timeslots of 64k each. E1 has no correspondense wich SS7 since E1 is just transmission link but SS7 is a logical signalling link wich may occupy 1 or several timeslots on E1.
