Can anybody tell me about C2 signalling. Is it another name of R2 signalling or else.if anybody can provide me ITU-T specs no. for C2 signalling it will be a great help.
26th March 2003 at 09:48 #34716c.kristhudass rabertGuestr2 singnalling is call r2mf signalling, it is used for switching.
r2mf stands for “register 2 multi frequency”. The pstn port will support 32 channals 1st channal for
frame setting 16th channal for signalling.so only 30 channals will get for subscribers traffic.
1st April 2003 at 01:23 #34717Sunil KumarGuestThis kind Signalling System is little older than combare to C7/SS7.
In R2 You have to handle two kind of Signalling.
1.Line Signalling
2.Register SignallingLine Signalling used used to hadle the SEIZURE and CLEARING of Circuits.Register-Takes care Subcriber Sigannls.
First Line Signalling after Seizyre Register Signalling will Start.

Both are same but,ANSI Standard will mention it as S7.

8th June 2003 at 14:17 #34724LeonardoGuestWe use R2 to link our company PABX and PSTN. I am new in these field. My question is, if I trace a R2 trunk and someone dials, I see something like; 8/5-1/7-A/3-5/A-etc. Is there a standard meaning to all of these numbers? I know these are the numbers being dialed and answered by the other end but I need to know the right meaning of each. like if I send 8, I should get a ???, sort of.
Thanks in advance.

R2 Signalling basically has a lot of variants. It usually varies from country to country. It has a lot of names like R2, R2 modified, CSMF (Compelled Sequence MF), R2MF, MF etc… (But not sure about C2).A detailed description of signals are available on the following websites….
