I work with siemens machines can you plse tell what exactly this thing called COBA does in the BTS.Thanks
1st August 2005 at 05:24 #39263amit kumar rastogiGuestwhy we use diversity.
1st August 2005 at 10:00 #39264ArslanGuestA diversity antenna system can be compared to a switch that selects
one
>antenna or another, never both at the same time. The radio in receive
mode
>will continually switch between antennas listening for a valid radio
>packet. After the beginning sync of a valid packet is heard, the radio
will
>evaluate the sync signal of the packet, on one antenna, then switch to
the
>other antenna and evaluate. Then the radio will select the best
antenna,
>and use only that antenna for the remaining portion of that packet.
>
>On transmit, the radio will select the same antenna it used the last
time
>it communicated to that given radio. If a packet fails, it will switch
to
>the other antenna and retry the packet.1st August 2005 at 10:02 #39265ArslanGuestIm working on Nokia Ultra site EDGE BTS. If u have questions,do ask.
1st August 2005 at 10:04 #39266ArslanGuestDiversity is usually used to overcome a phenomenon called Multipath distortion. It uses two identical
antennas,
>located a small distance apart, to provide coverage to the same
physical
>area.
>
>Multipath Distortion
>Multipath interference occurs when an RF signal has more than one path
>between a receiver and a transmitter. This occurs in sites that have a
>large amount of metallic or other RF reflective surfaces.
>
>Just as light and sound bounce off of objects, so does RF. This means
there
>can be more than one path that RF takes when going from a TX to and RX
>antenna. These multiple signals combine in the RX antenna and receiver
to
>cause distortion of the signal.
>
>Multipath interference can cause the RF energy of an antenna to be
very
>high, but the data would be unrecoverable. Changing the type of
antenna,
>and location of the antenna can eliminate multipath interference.
>
>One can relate this to a common occurrence in one’s car. As one pull
up to
>a stop, one may notice static on the radio. But as one moves forward a
few
>inches or feet, the station starts to come in more clearly. By rolling
>forward, one moves the antenna slightly, out of the point where the
>multiple signals converge.1st August 2005 at 10:49 #39267HerbertGuestHi to all,
I just want to know what is the Maximum power for BTS antenna 900Mhz and 1800Mhz, with and without TMA. Also, the Range (area coverage) in Km it can cover
For Space Diversity antenna what is the required spacing. We have encounter Loss of signal when using BER for 24 Hours. What remedy can I do.
Thanks to any help

10th August 2005 at 04:50 #39272Jordy IrawanGuestDear All,
I am with a new sub contractor for service telco infrastructure for telco operator in malaysia. I have a poor basic in this area. I am in marekting division. For example I do not know what is BTS and their functions. What items or components should include for Power Installation Rectifier & battery. What items or components should we offer if clients ask for turnkey BTS installation or MW ?
Could you give me info or anything related to this. It would be appreciated if you can send me website, study case, contact persons or papers about all this things.
Thanks for your cooperation
12th August 2005 at 06:10 #39273ArslanGuestUltraSite BTS provides high output power and high receive sensitivity 44.5 dBm (28.2 W) with bypass combiner.
12th August 2005 at 06:18 #39274ArslanGuestMike i have mailed u a few things.do check ur mail.
