I’ve been experimenting with my Webswitch 100’s trying to find the best resulting voice quality. Does anyone know which is supposed to be the best? I have cable at both locations with 128k up. (i’m only using 1 channel at a time)

    G.729ab
    G.723.1 (5.3kbps)
    G.723.1 (6.3kbps)
    G.711

Thanks for any info! Reason I’m asking is we’re still getting a little choppiness in the line. Are there any other areas to “tweak”?

    Rob,

The reason for the choppiness is almost certainly any silence suppression you are using. If you want the very best call quality then you should use G.711 if you want the best use of your bandwidth you should use G.723(5.3Kbs) for the best compromise use G.729.
