I have a A400 set up with H323 and talking to CISCO AS5300.
The Quintul does not give me back the progress tone (or ringing tone).
However the CISCO sends back the ALERT signal correctly; and when calling from a ATA186 I do get the ringing tone.

Do you know how to configure the Quintum in order to have the ringing tone ?

    Frederic,

in the pbx and pstn tg level of config you need to enable call progress tones.

you may also need to add progress indicators in the h323gw part.

    any questions just ask

Thank you for your kind feed back.

Could you pls tell about the following ?

1- QUINTUM box generates locally the ring back tone after reception of ALERT message (encapsulated in H323)

2- OR does it just let pass the ring back tone that is generated by the remote CISCO 5300 or remote PSTN Switch for example ?

3- Is there anyway the Quintum box can generate locally the ring back tone, what ever the situation (even without reception of the ALERT msg), such that the caller does not panick & wait until reply of the called part ?

    Many Thanks

it is much better idea to avoid turning on the “fake” progress tones at the trunk group (progtone 1).
This (on analog tenors) can interfere with the voice based answer/disconnect supervision.

    Better do this:

    config
    h323gw
    progindalert 1

    I tried the …
    config
    h323gw
    progindalert 1

although it does not work. is there any other configs that have to enabled.
