    I have a Quintum A800 that I use for toll bypass using PSTN lines. Calls are sent over the Internet from a Cisco AS5300. Every day, I find ports stuck in active-disc rcvd(17) state. I have to reset the unit to clear them. Please suggest how to fix this problem.

    Set answer and disconnect supervision on the Quintum. Turn of modem bypass, and pass through in the pstn trunk group.

    And if it does not help ?
    What version of quintum software should I have.
    It seems that I stll have this problem.

    Create a script that connects to the telnet port and resets the Quintum automatically. I would recommend you to do that every 2 hours if you have high load. I used Perl and Net::Telnet.

    it does help. Voice supervision has to be turned on.

    On the pstn trunk group, put these options:

    Cas Signaling Type = loop start fwd disconnect(6)

    Cas Orientation = user(0)

    Supervision = answer and disconnect(3)

    But this is not a solution. You will always have such a problem, because analog phone lines (unlike E1/T1) do not mostly have disconnect supervision capabilities. You can solve your problem by buying those line supervision boxes, which stay on the way between the PSTN phone line and Quintum. They cost about 30-40 EUR each.

    I will add
    Cas Signaling Type = loop start fwd disconnect(6)

    what was not set.

    Where can I find those supervision boxes ?
    Does somebody has some expirience with them ?
