Hi, I am using T.38 fax protocol in cisco access servers 5850 to send voip traffic to Colombia. But i had experoenced an particular issue when I try to send faxes, i could established the fax call then after scan the first page the connection is dropped. Using and sniffer i could see that after scan the first page my AS580 send a menssage to my media gateway (cisco 1760) that change the T.38 session to voice session and it produce call drop. i have tested wit cisco fax relay and pass-through options, with the same results.

Try those settings on Cisco :

    dial-peer voice x voip
    >fax protocol t38 ls-redundancy 0 hs-redundancy 0 fallback none

Also make sure ECM is disabled and fax transmission speed (fax rate)is not specified.
    >fax-relay ecm disable

    Let me know.

What type of a gateway do you send faxes to in Colombia. Did you also tried to send faxes directly.

What IOS is on 1760 also I do not think that 1760 supports T.38
