I work for a school district which is considering insatalling an IP telephony solution. Which system would you recommend Cisco or Avaya?

I’d also take a good look at NEC; they have products with fuller feature set than Cisco and lower price tag than Avaya. In particular, the NEC 2000 has great features and lots of IP along with conventional connectivity. I support a school district with about 2200 phones; they are weighing the Cisco vs NEC decision in the next year.

I just implemented an entire town’s school system (6 schools) with an Avaya VOIP solution. They’re as happy as clams. ’nuff said.
