    Hello everybody,

I have configured a gateway (type cisco 2600, ios version 12.2) for my cisco ip phones (cisco 7960 and cisco 7910) to make calls.
To make outbound calls is no problem, but inbound calls are teribble, the quality of voice is very bad. I have tried all kinds of codecs such as g711, g729 , g723… but there is no diffrent beteen this codecs..
What else can I do to solve this voice problem?

u know voice traffic is RTP traffic and u have to treat it as such,

    try the following:

-check your bandwidth capacity against the No. of voice ports u have for calls.

-is your RTP traffics compressed at both ends? if No, do that by enabling cRTP.

-with your codec, consider the payload for the codec used, as this might affect the bandwidth comsumption

Your problem is simply bandwidth management/comsumption..

    -Lastly, check all cables

do email me supoade@yahoo.com if that does not help
