    Hi all
I am Francisco from Guatemala, and I am traying to set a small
WAN connection to connect 2 sites over a leased line, I am using
old Cisco router, which dont support gatekeeper, and can not
afford to change to 26xx or 36xx. Is there a way to connect
one site to the other using ATAs from Cisco directly . I have
searched a lot and not been able to find a solution.
    thanks and best regards

I got 2 ata-186s to work across a wireless link. I set them up in SIP and made the gatekeeper IP match the IP
of the other 186. I am still not 100% sure how I got them to work thou!!
Still reseaching them and don’t expect much help from Cisco.

    Thanks for the information Matt
I read some where that in this case you cannot set a plan to dial, and you should dial ip addresses. Is that true ?
in your atas, do you dial ip address or have some dial plan
    settings ? Thanks !!!

No I just left the dial plans as default. It doesn’t matter what I dial!!!! As long as it starts with * and ends in #.
One thing I have had not much success with is changing the dial tone and ring length, in Australia the dial tone
sounds like a “happy cat” and the ring is twice followed by a pause.
I could do a screen capture of the /DEV page and post it on some spare webspace I have if you want to see what
    I’ve done.

Here you go Francisco have a look at these gifs. Carefull they are quite large
about 1.8 Meg each. I had to do do that so that you could still read them 🙂
