    Please update me on the latest status of conformance testing and interoperability for the VOIP standards: H.323, SIP, MGCP

    Are there well defined conformance tests (like in ETSI standards like GSM) or bake offs (like IETF standards like PPP)? What organizations or companies are charged with ensuring interoperability. Interoperability is key advantage for IP telephony.

    Thanks in advance for the information.

    H.323 = IMTC/ETSI
    SIP = SIP Bakeoff aka SIPit (pillsbury got upset)
    MGCP = Intl softswitch consortium

    These are the groups that hold annual or semi annual interop events. Whole ton of companies are on each board.

    mgcp = http://www.softswitch.org
    h323 = http://www.imtc.org
