What is the difference betweenn buying a VOIP solution with Dialogic boards, and buying straight a Cisco 26XX, 36XX or 53XX and putting the right amount of T1s or E1 and doing all the voice codecs through this equipments rather then from a PC – with dialogic boards ???

I see solutions from different comapnies but it makes me wonder. thanks.

I understand that buying a bundla package may result in a turnkey solution but my question is then : what will be the limitatios of either solution. For example, Voiceware vs CISCo

    Thanks,

First of all I have both Cisco and Vocaltec in my netowrk.
About VTGW 8 (the analog gateway with 4/8 ports FXO/FXS).
It’s very odd device. The first versions ware very bad … the administration was beeing made via telnet only (two telnet sessions actualy – one to send the commands and one to see the log).
    Now they have web interface.
Then – about the tones – I had very hard time configuring the tones, compared to PC based analog gateway from Vocaltec.

And about cisco and if it is for small networks – … can you tell me what small network should have 8 E1 lines? hmmm Cisco 5350 was made to serve a purpose wasn’t it?
