I am currently running voip with cisco as5300 hooked upi to channel banks that go out to the PSTN via analog lines. In the target country answer supervision signals are not detected and hence create billing problems. Does anyone know of a workaround for this. I have been told that there are small DSP boxes that detect voice activity and emulate AS when needed. Any info is appreciated.8th January 2002 at 09:07 #20916hazem al bassamGuest

There is a channel bank made by Pleiades Communications that has answer supervision built-in for around $4K, but you would have to replace your existing channel bank.15th February 2002 at 06:12 #20919AushmanGuest

FXO is an analog technology. CAS would be channel associated signalling which cisco uses on their digital circuits.
What interface did you want configured? What is it connecting to?22nd February 2002 at 02:49 #20927AushmanGuest
R , I have T1 digital interface. In this case please tell me what would be my T1 COntroller config for Cisco for CAC channel Bank connection.23rd February 2002 at 01:02 #20928RommelGuest
The CAC doesnt work with the AS5300 because of its ans sup timing. Just make the controller fg-b or wink start and have the cac understand that….they should have 3 dip switches on the t1 ingress. Flip A and B up. You will only have one way traffic not bi-directional.
