How does Erlang calculate the number of Digital trunks(T1) required for 55.56 erlang and .01 blocking?

It doesnt, it calculates the number of channels/lines/curcuits needed to carry that amount of traffic. You then divide the answer by the number of channels in a T1. Round the answer up to the next whole number or argue with your T1 provider for a fractional (partial) service.
