    Hi Misa, Pankaj, Vijay:

Do you have a concrete example or reference material for the SS7 dimensioning specifically for the IN platform.

What is the avg. length of TCAP message?

Pankaj: What is the 40% factor with which you have multiplied the link speed for calculating the no. of links?

    Thanx,

    Mairaj

Assuming 40% link occupency in normal Scenarion and allowing for 80% in case the other link goes dow. This is the normal practice.

    Thanx Pankaj

Can you also advice about the avg. length of TCAP message and what are the assumptions?

    Regards,

    Mairaj

    Mairaj,
The idea behind 40% is lies in the duplicated architecture of SS7 n/w. In SS7 each node is redundant. so if one goesdown then other should have enough capacity to handle it’s own load + increased load due to redundant node + load due to unexpected traffic ( normally 20 %). so this makes one traffic capacity
