Welcome to the new style Telecom Design Forum. We have made some significant changes to the Forum, which we hope will make it easier to use, and more reliable.

Firstly, all threads can now be viewed on one page.

Secondly, only the thread subjects are shown on the index page, and not each posting. This makes the index page smaller, quicker to load and easier to read.

Lastly, but most importantly, you have the option of entering your email address when you make a posting. If you do, then you will be notified by email if someone replies to your posting. Please note that your email address is not published with the posting.

We hope you agree with us that these improvements are worthwhile. As ever, we welcome your feedback. Please reply to this thread to let us know what you think.

    Best regards,
    Westbay Engineers Ltd.

    Hello,

Thanks for your kind comments about the changes. The old forum really got too big, and we needed a complete overhaul. We used to use a third party system from Microsoft, but have now developed this new forum in-house (well, we are a software house, so it wasn’t too difficult 😉 The big job was transferring all the existing messages to the new format.

The next step is to split the table of contents across several pages so that the 30 (say) most recent threads are on the first page, and the next thirty are on another etc.

    Cheers,
    TH.

As promised, we have now updated the forum again. The threads have been split into pages of 20, and you can use the links at the top of the index table to navigate between the pages.

Hopefully, this will make the forum easier to read, and load quicker.

The figure of 20 threads per page seemed reasonable to us, but can easily be changed.

    Any thoughts?
