    hi
how the interference between uplink &downlink signal is avoided (specialy in CDMAwhere both have same frequency & same pn code)

Why Uplink Frequency is less than Downliny Frequency.
    GSM 900:
    Uplink : 890-915 Mhz
    Downlink: 935-960 Mhz
    GSM 1800:
    Uplink : 1710-1785 Mhz
    Downlink: 1805-1880 Mhz
Why cant we use uplink band as 935-960 and downlink as 990-915Mhz

Less transmitting power for lower frequency (MS)

    Dear Shriram,
As you know in GSM the UL is limited since the MS tx-power (UL) is small as compared to the BTS tx-power (DL) and because the attenuation increases as the frequency increases, for the above mentioned reasons the UL is assigned to the lower frequency band while the DL for the higher one.

    hi Karthik,
today i first time saw that question thats why i m giving u answer.
as u said each frequency in gsm is further divided into 8 time slots and u get this. 1/200KHZ=5 microseconds.so my sweet buddy.200KHZ is the bandwidth of the channel if it is devided it will give u the bandwidth of the slots not “time”.so ur question is wrong.if u want more u can write ur question.
    bye

    hi mirza,
the guy wrote the question in 2004… i’m not sure he’s still looking for the answer. But, yeah, his question was based on wrong thinking.

Regarding your answer, if you divide the bandwidth of 200kHz, it won’t give you the bandwidth of a slot. The slot is a “TIME” slot, so it is the full 200 kHz that are cut every 4.16ms.. mmm. i’m not using the right words here… nvmind 🙂

    Dear pix,
u r wright.actually i want to clear that person if u divde then u will get bandwidth so called.but u can never get microsecond.i want to clear him.i know its just sharing of time.not divde the bandwidth.even then i m thankful to answer this
    keep in contact.
    take care
    bye

    Hi Friends

    Can u help this ??
The site GSM 1800 has low SDSUC reasons Low Signal strength Uplink and TDR same reasons Low Signal strength Uplink :

    MSTXPWR : 30
    BSPWRB : 45
    BSPWRT : 45
    Layer Treshold : -85
    ACCMIN : -90

    hi chachu

There are two type of Band in Any Mobi1e company likeGSM 900 or GSM
1800 and both have the difference Frequency

    in GSM 900
Uplink Freq -890 to 915 MHZ
Downlink Freq- 935 to 960 MHZ

    and in GSM 1800
    Uplink Freq -1710 to 1785MHz
    Downlink Freq- 1805 to 1880MHZ

i hope u ‘ll get yr Answer.

    Regards,
    Paresh Patel.
