ASR & CSR

    Pls give definations of Answer seizure Ratio & Call success Ratio with examples. that is with some numbers which will explain both .

    I think anwser siezure ratio & call success ratio might be same. Please carify me , if i am wrong.

    Answer Bid ratio = (Number_of_answered_calls/Number_of_Bids) * 100

    Answer Seizure ratio = (Number_of_answered_calls/Number_of_siezure) * 100

    where
    Bids = Call attempts
    Siezures = Attempts which got/sieze the connections
    Answered = Attempts which got the connections and anwsered.

    ASr and CSR are deffent.
    ASR=Answerd calls/ Seizured calls
    If you have ofer flowin your trunks you shold add that aslo along with sezures.

    CSR=Call success/Call attempts
    normally in anetwork CSR will be 97%.But ASR will be between 30to 50% only. In my netwok i observed CSR of 98% and ASR 35%

    What I understood your reply is Call Success Ratio is nothing but ABR. Pleas correct me, if i am wrong. Thanks.

    Hi Sujeesh,

    When do you say a call is success,
    (i) if an attempt gets the connection
    (ii) if an attempt is answered??

    In the 1st scenario,
    CSR is not ABR

    But in the 2nd scenario,
    CSR=ABR.

    Please clarify me in details, if I am wrong.

    1 st case.. calls get connection .
    In wirless senario , If BTS receved SERVICE CONNECT COMPLTE MESSAGE message from MS and it(BTS) should send ack for this meassage to MS

    Thanks for the Discussion threads,

    I think the idea is a bit clear now abt CSR related to BTS & MS in a wireless network.

    But what about CSR & ASR in CCS7 network ?

    Because though the CSR at BTS end is 97% call failure is lot especially Call drops especially on 31st of Dec. that is I believe MSC resources were not available that is SM’s in this cases for CCS7 what should be the definations?

    I am working as Traffic analysar.

    Im Darwin, Switch Engineer.I have a problem with my trunks, I monitored CCS7 call fail in EWSD switch. How can I resolved it.

    I am a SS7 probe supplier that can help with you questions on SS7 failures. What specifically is the problem?
