    Hi ,

I would like to clarify my one of the confusion that ” is this possible to have DTM in one of the network ,even without Gs interface and if it is, then how is it possible without Gs interface . Since Gs interface only works with NMO 1 ?

    hi,

The DTM allows a MS to do a CS+PS transfer, in parallel.
The Gs interface allows to page a MS which is in PS transfer.
Those 2 features are totally independant. However, both are needed to allow this scenario :
the MS is doing a PS transfer
the MSC needs to page the MS because of an incoming call
the CS Paging will go through the Gs interface
the MS will then establish a DTM connection (CS+PS), allowing to keep the PS transfer and answer the call at the same time.
Without Gs interface, the above-described scenario cannot take place :the CS PAging will be unanswered.

    thanks for your reply Pix.

But keeping in view your said scenario , how about if we don’t have Gs interface and let say we have NMO2 currently set in a network and we have also enabled BSS paging coordination through a parameter Called “EN_BSS_PAGING_COORDINATION”.

Now would the said scenario possible with the setting i just mentioned.

I think it would be , but correct me if i am wrong .

    yes,

BSS paging coordination replaces the Gs interface.

    Hi,

Both PS and CS paging will take place via A-interface after implementing “BSS paging coordination”
