Query on 200khz and 270kbps in GSM

    Hi Expert,

    I have some confusion.They are:-

    1.Why we stick with the 200khz bandwidth in GSM (Can’t we use 100khz or something greater than 200khz).

    2.How 270.9 kbps is map on 200khz.Can you please send any calculation of carrier spacing of 200Khz and 270kbps.

    Well for 200khz…….i think its depend upon the bandpass filter and system requirement to maintain 270.9kbps over air interface.
    Though there would be some calculation behind this as well.
