    Hi,
we have a case BTS with 4 sectors, we want to have a configuration 6x6x6x6. There are 29 channels for TCH. We cannot implement this conf in SFH because of MAIO (there are not sufficient frequencies in the list, only 29). Hopping scheme is 1×1. My question is: Would we have any impact if we use different HSN for sector 4 with the same MAIO as sector 2?
    The idea is:
    sector 1: HSN=X, MAIO=0, 6, 12, 18, 24
    sector 2: HSN=X, MAIO=2, 8, 14, 20, 26
    sector 3: HSN=X, MAIO=4, 10, 16, 22, 28

now, sector 4 with different HSN and same MAIO as sector 2 (opposite directions):
    sector 4: HSN=Y, MAIO=2, 8, 14, 20, 26
Any idea if it’s worth to try?
    Best regards

    hi rex,

you can give it a shot….

but you might as well use MAIO with step of 1, rather than 2. In this case, you need 24 MAIO (24 TRX) and you have 29 arfcn in the MA List.

    So that is ok, normally.

Your solution is a workaround, but very dangerous beczause sector 4 will generate collision with other sectors of the BTS. The idea of using same HSN and different MAIO is that each TRX of the BTS will never use the same frequency.

By the way, if you use different HSN, the MAIO order used in the cell (0, 2, 4, 6) or (6, 4, 2, 0) does not matter at all. The sequence of frequencies being totally different between 2 HSN, the probability of collisions is random.

    Cheers,

    Thanks Pix,
what you think about this conf now, two HSNs used alternatively:

    Cell1: MAIO=0, 4, 8, 12, 16; HSN=N1
    Cell2: MAIO=1, 5, 9, 13, 17; HSN=N2 (diferent HSN than in Cell1)
    Cell3: MAIO=2, 6, 10, 14, 18; HSN=N1 (same HSN as in Cell1)
    Cell4: MAIO=3, 7, 11, 15, 19; HSN=N2 (same HSN as in Cell2)

    Best Regards,
    Rex

no no, you have to use the same HSN for all cells located in the same BTS

(if you don’t do that, the world gonna end on 21st December… it’s all up to you…)
