    E1=32time slots(64kb/s)
    1 TRX= 2 time slot on E1
    ….. for TRU basic function I think i send it for you (BTS description) by monaemh.

    What exactly is this Assignment failure ratio? I am working on the Nortel system and the most of the sites shows a lot of assign failure ratios.Can u pls clarify..

    Hi All ,
    As to SFH(JD’s question) – what’s use in 4\4\4 cells with 25 frequencies avalaible? Taking into account BCCH carrier and guard, we have 9 freq. avalaible. Even with SFH, you have 3 neigbouring cells, 3 TRX(+BCCH) each. What about the interference? What is the real rechable value of load in this area?

    Could you please tell me ,how many
    traffic channels can be used (simultaneously)per every (GSM)frequency.This using FR TCHs.

    As 2 TS are used for signalling I assume that max.6 RF TCH can be sued.

    V.Gomes,

    Consider following example, u have 1 base station having 3 sectors n u have 9 TRX (freq). Therefore 9TRX will be divided in 3sec. Hence 1 sec wil have 3TRX means 3×8=24 time solts. out of 24 TS 1 will be used for BCCH,1 for SDCCH n remaining 22 FR TCH.

    Same applies for other sectors.

    Note;Only first TRX of that particular sector will have BCCH or SDCCH remaining all 8 TS of other TRX can be used for TCH.Also in some cases there can be more then 1 SDCCH (say2),then number of TCH will be 21.

    hi sunny

    you might be confusing while explaning that configuration ……..
    Actuall I’ve worked as a O&M engineer..
    if you have a 3+3+3 comfiguration..
    then in each sector there is 1 TRu for BCCH(signalling)..
    and the remaining 7 TS in each sector r used for Voice tranmission..

    jai, in ur case the BCCH & SDCCH shares same TS. Am I right???

    But I have given very general example in which BCCH & SDCCH are on different TS.

    Hi all,

    A FACCH comes in when u require handoff during TCH. But how is handoff done when in signalling mode SDCCH or when in idle mode?
