Hello to Nokia BTS Experts.
after severe R/L fluctuation bcs of rainy or windy whether, a few nokia ultrasite BTS OMU signaling and TRX LAPD signaling links remains blockage,
restoration of these signalink links by MML commands fails,
only way to get the BTS worked is locally Hardreset.
sometimes applying loopback the PCM towards to BTS, may solve the problem.
Can you make some comments on this issue ,

I’m experienced this too, and in my case loop-unloop transmission equiment solved the problem.
Weather that are not good and degraded performance of transmission link might be the root cause. Fix transmission line first by troubleshooting alarm or quality test.11th July 2012 at 19:18 #68419alonewolvesGuest

let me make another comment on this issue,
this kind of problem happens on Nokia BTSs, although huawei and motorola bts don’t suffer from the same issue,
whenever Transmission quality reaches good level, bts should initialize itself automatically and stand-up
everytime loop-unloop solution take times in big networks.
i suppose that problem is Transmission card which is located in BTS.
Tomorrow i am going to ask my colleague who they had used nokia bts long time about how they overcome this problem.
if i got useful info, i would share it with you.

Sometimes you need to check the internal clock (the setting it is 2048) if it is not the correct parameter the BOIA will be blocked.
Also this clock is used incas of lost of frames but after rain or wind it could change a lot

i have checked clock values for 10 sites which they are located in 5 different BSCs
values changes from 1742 to 2578.
none of the bts has exact clock value of 2048.
as i understand your statment when the clock value is differs from 2048 boi may blocked itself ? so this reason it is needed to check clock values sometimes and manually adjust the clock value ?
by the time we use Rx clock only for synchronization, (no internal timing )

Nokia BSC’s OMU suffer from blokage issue too,
Loop-unloop solves the problem most of time
last time we could not reach to the BSC bcs OMU link was out of service,
Loop-unloop given to the BSC’s omu link during 10 munites
then access to the BSC was OK.
What is the wrong with Nokia systems ?
