    hey guys,

    I want to understand more about BA lists provided by BTS either in active and idle mode:

    1. Is the serving cell’s ARFCN among the frequencies provided in those files ?

    2. what are the differences in the contents of BA active and idle ?

    3. Do those files’ formats change in GPRS or EDGE compared to GSM’s formats?

    Thank you.

    Hi Beni;
    1 & 2 The serving cells ARFCN should be in the idle list but not in the active list. Typically this is the difference between the two lists. If the serving cell was in the active list the phone would be waisting resources reading the signal strength of that serving cell as a possible HO.
    3.I dont understand this question.
