Do networks keep record of the RACH access request traced to each sub?

    hi scott,

no, because the rach access is anonymous. The subscriber will be identified only after the authentication (duh!) during the sdcch phase.

    Thanks for the reply Pix.

Would a record still be kept but not linked with sub?

I query this as there is very little papers on performance of wcdma rach access that I could find and background for standardization so i want to look at any captured record and see if it gives help.

    Scott,

when you say “record”, do you mean “counter” ?
(i.e. the total number of rach requests received by the cell in a certain period of time)

    Hi Pix

No I am asking about e.g. cell barred, call re-establishment, maximum number of re-transmissions, number of random access bursts for the last connection, establishment cause/random access used in the latest burst and so on?

    scott,

you will find some general info in the BSS counters, but for the level of details you need, then you have to record an Abis trace and post-process it.
