HSN planning

    Dear all,

    I have a question related to frequency hopping feature.
    In a RF hopping system, HSN (hopping sequence number) is chosen randomly or there is a HSN plan that has to be used?

    I dont understand how the sequence is generated! Should adjacent value of HSNs be used in nearer sites?

    Please help me,

    each HSN generates a random sequence of frequencies. The 63 HSN’s (from 1 to 63) are orthogonal.
    The only thing you must ensure is that neighbour BTS are using different HSN (adjacent or far, doesn’t matter).

    hi,

    So, this mean that choosing random HSN (in SFH)for each site, will not effect on the network performance!!!

    We use a mod64 HSN. Basicly we take the site number and subtract one then divide that by 64 to get our hsn. I thought you could use a 0 but that is one you dont want to use.

    To plan the HSN, you can go by this way: NCC*8+BCC

    What if NCC+BCC for one site is the same with an other neighbor site (BCCH frequencies are different)?

    We cant have same HSN for these two sites?

    Why you think NCC and BCC is related to HSN?

    You can use the same HSN in each sector and use MAIO to prevent interference between sectors.

    I am just asking “why we use same HSN in each sector of a BTS?”
    Is there any reason that we have to use the same HSN in every sector of that particular BTS?

    well, it’s very difficult to reply to you because we are falling in a paradoxal loop.

    1/ Using the same HSN in the BTS is an “interference prevention”, as you named it.

    2/ You don’t want us to talk about interference prevention…

    So I would suggest you search in this forum : the usage of HSN has been discussed before.

    i’m reading your post carefully…
    you want to know about hsn in the same BTS.
    it is a method to prevent interference.

    so what else do you want to know ??

    i think you misunderstood my previous post : the points (1) and (2) are summary of your own post:

    Hi Malay Das,
    I’m not sure but I think that each HSN number has its own hopping algorithm. With the same HSN in all cells (same algorithm, same rule) of a BTS using different MAIO (different frequencies in the same time) for each TRX you prevent interference.
    With different HSN number in cells, so different algorithms, it means that is very possible using same frequency in the same time very often and that causes interference.
    And, please, don’t use such a language any more. The best contributor in this forum is Pix. You shouldn’t do that. Shame on you. I’m sure you’re a nice guy and sometimes we all are angry about something.
