    Does incresing the value of T3109 (timer for monitoring the channel release procedure) affects the number of call drop counter? please help!!

    Hi Radiated,

    the timer T3109 is started after the release to supervise this procedure. The BSC sends a CHANNEL RELEASE message with an RR cause value normal release to the MS and a DEACTIVATE SACCH message to the BTS. When the MS does not respond during the time specified by T3109 all resources will be released by the system as well. So timer T3109 does not have an impact on the number of drop call counters. A drop can only occur during an ongoing connection and NOT in the release phase. KR Zbigniew

    Can we initiate or reestablish a call while the T3109 timer is counting down (before it expires)?
