GSM Timer ?

    Hi everybody,

    I am studying with the GSM timer problem.

    As you may know, in the GSM network there are a lot of timers, such as timers at the switching side MSC/VLR, timers at the radio side BSC/BTS, and timers at the MS side. For example implicit detach timer at VLR, T3212 (periodic location update) at BTS/MS,…

    I’m interesting what relationship between the timers, and how to optimize them for a better network.

    Any help/opinion would be appreciated. Pls help me if you have any idea.

    Everybody, kindly help me, please !!!

    In the GSM there are many timers involved in the handover process, e.g. T3103, T3105,…, and the ETSI GSM 04.08 document tells that their value are network dependent.

    I would like to know, how do we choose the value for these timers depend on the network configuration???

    Pls share your opinion.
