Hi Bijoy ,Whats the different b/w power bugget HO and Level based HO.
also how PGBT and Power control related..

PBGT HO takes care of the path loss of the target cell so that the call is handed over to the cell having least path loss.

Level(Edge HO in huawei) handover is triggered, when the level of the target cell is at least one hysteresis value
(Inter-cell HO Hysteresis) higher than the level of the serving cell.

PBGT HO doesn’t takes place when the power control is taking place for the call,PBGT HO takes place only when the call is within the power control window(when no power up or power down is taking place).

    Thanks Bijoy,
How it calcilate path loss for the handover purpose?
Can we enable both PGBT and Level HO in the network.? then how it will work

    Bijoy,

“PBGT HO doesn’t takes place when the power control is taking place for the call,PBGT HO takes place only when the call is within the power control window(when no power up or power down is taking place).”

for info : That is a very very strange behaviour. Definitely not happening in ALU. Are you sure about that?
The PBGT HO algo is taking into account the power control attenuations (= the PC effect on the RXLEV is cancelled), so PC is completely transparent in the PBGT HO.

    Yes Pix
PBGT Algorithm do takes care of the fact as how much power has been decreased/increased to calculate the path loss, but not at the time when MS/BTS is ramping up/down power,I mean when power increment or decrement is going on.

    Bijoy,
    Allright. (but not in ALU)
