    Hi all,
This is related to Inter MSC HO. All the definitions are available in both BSC and MSC. All data including BSIC, BCCH, CGI are same and correct. Still inter MSC HO fails between specific set of cells with BSSMAP HO failure reason as “Invalid Cell”.

what could be the reason for the failure. Due to this MSC replies the source BSC as “equipment failure”.

    Thanks, ram

Have you checked whether external LAC definition is proper. We need to define target MSC LAC’s as external LAC in the source MSC & vice versa.

    Hi Bijoy,
This is E/// BSC & MSC. As mentioned all the values are defined. In E/// the complete external cell has to be defined instead of LAC. In BSC side also the BSIC, BCCH values are properly defined. After analysis i found a single cell attempting HO towards three other cells have HO failure in MSC side. From BSC side they claim HO stats are normal for the particular cell. Greatly confused

    thanks,

    Hi,
other HO between the MSC s are working fine. when i checked with internet for invalid cell the expl is – “when the subscriber has moved from the coverage area this type of error code will be returned by BSSAP”

    thanks,
    ram.

ok then check the BSC point codes of the mentioned cells.it might be different from the required point code.

    Hi,
You could also have a neighbour audit (external + internal) of the source cell on which attempts are being generated.
It might be a case where you have defined a far off neigbour but missed a nearby neighbour due to BCCH/ BSIC clash and MS measures this BCCH/BSIC (of the nearby cell not defined) and attempts on the far off cell. Which fails as MS cannot camp.

    Hi guys,
It is Ericsson. Both BSC and MSC are from Ericsson.
