skn,

rxlev is a measure, not a computation.

you can convert the dBm into watt and vice-versa.

X (dBm)=10 log Y (mW)

Hi skin,

As pix said, the rxlev refers to the received power measured by either the MS or BTS. Theoretically, it can be estimated by the formula:

Rxlev = tx output power + tx antenna gain + rx antenna gain – path loss.

You are not understanding my question, we have EIRP, Path loss, etc. whenever we get Rxlev,

it is coming with negative sign,

BTS power 43dbm
antenna gain 17 dbi,

combiner loss 3db

we get approx 150-155 as pathloss
how do we get -40dbm to -110 dbm

how TEMs is calculating Receive level (RxLev)

hi skn,

sheldon gave you the formula !! just use it with your own values :

BTS power 43dbm + antenna gain 17 dbi – combiner loss 3db – 155 as pathloss

= -98dBm

> how do we get -40dbm to -110 dbm

just apply the freakin’ formula 🙂

cheers
