    Hi all,

I believe you can decrease MFRMS to 3 in order to decrease no. of paging groups and increase paging queue as paging groups= (9-AG)*MFRMS,Queue length=14*(1-paging groups/10) but will increase batteries mobile consumbtion given non combined BCCH/SDCCH
2- MCCCH configuration to more than 1 to 2

What could be the issue, when EDGE data is enabled in MS, MT call for it is unsuccessful sometimes? No Paging for it is observed in that case. Why MS is not paged?

Is there any correlation between SDCCH drop & Paging Sucess Rate????
    Eg-1:
    SDCCH Drop: 0.8
    PSR: 91.5%
    Eg-2:
    SDCCH Drop: 0.4
    PSR: 95.5%
    System: Nokia

    Hi Bishnu,
you should have Gs Interface (MSC-SGSN) or BSS Paging Coordination. Otherwise, MS wont be paged in packet transfer mode.

REX: In NM 2 the MS listen to PCH while is in transfer mode with a established TBF
I think you are talking about NM 3

The third way to improve PSR is to reduce the LA size (the first two are the ones that MIke mentioned)

RF also has some influence in PSR so you need to diferenciate if your problem are pages/seg or RF problems (that includes ping pong between 2g and 3g)

Require details calculation of 3G Paging Capacity calculation, max PPS calculation, threshold of PPS after which LAC split will be rquired as of latest RNC/NodeB software versions (between 2017 to 2020) for ZTE only.
