    Hi,

    Could anyone of you tell me the way to convert W to decibel. For example how do they say 2W=33dBm????

    P (dBm) = (10Log(Power Watts)) + 30

    *Log is base 10.

    Power in dBm is compared to power of 1mW (1mW = (1/1000)W)
    To convert 2W to dBm will be:
    P= 10log(2W/1mW)= 10log(2000/1)
    = (10*3.3)dBm = 33dBm

    NB: log is in base 10

    * the ‘+30’ was done to compensate the 1mW condition. 10*log(1000) = 30.
