    hi.. what is the advantage of using 32 kbps over 16 kbps radio signaling in abis interface?

    More throughput, in order to carry more signalling. This is useful when the TRX is carrying a lot of HR calls and/or a lot of SDCCH timeslots.

    can this be congested? what is the indication in KPI stats? will this be reflected in sdcch blocking? tnx pix..

    Yes, the RSL (radio signalling link on abis) can be congested. This is very bad for QoS because it will slow down all main procedures on SDCCH (call estab, SMS, LU). I would say that due to “cumulative” effect of the congestion (snowball), the procedures could even fail.
    To avoid RSL congestion, you must monitor the counter called “LapD Congestion”. On which system are you working ? ALU ?

    For NOKIA,use “ZDMF” command to see the LAPD statistical meters
