    Hi all,
    is there anybody to give us idea how to decrease the round trip time delay in Alcatel systems B10?
    And what are normal values for this(for GPRS or EDGE data)?We observed with ping values 500to1000ms?

    Hi,

    What do you call RTT ? Can you give the method you use to calculate it ?

    Normally : you ping your GGSN many times, consecutively. The RTT is the ping delay in average, except the 1st ping (because there is TBF establishment).

    i’ll give you B10 average values tomorrow.

    what is RTT average value for B9?
    How to improve (decrease) RTT ?
    Which interface causes mostly increasing (delaying) RTT?
    Vendor is Alcatel, release B9.

    ex. ping with google is around 800ms, shouldn’t be less?

    Hi Raju,
    try to activate the Extended UL TBF feature and may be the RTT will decrease but you must expect increase of TBF UL drops

    What is your BS_CV_MAX?
    Check in “ZEGO;”
    Increase it to 9 and use the following settings,you will see improvement.

    00067 DL_TBF_RELEASE_DELAY 03E8 YES to 07D0
    00068 UL_TBF_RELEASE_DELAY 01F4 YES
    00071 UL_TBF_REL_DELAY_EXT 03E8 YES
    00072 UL_TBF_SCHED_RATE_EXT 0005 YES to 0004
